We just received a call from the nurse in the OR - Paul's surgery is going great so far. Dr. Kirschner has completed the lip portion of the procedure and is currently working on the palate. The ear tubes come after that, so he will be in for a while yet.
The nurse said he has been great through the whole thing - he put on a little show for the camera crew before going to sleep, and showed off his toys that he took in with him. He cried a little when it was time to go to sleep, but not too bad.
We will try to post updates as we get them, and as soon as we can after he is out of recovery.
